ESTEFANIA DONDI

 

Estefania Dondi Aguilar is a Costa Rican performer, choreographer based in Costa Rica.

She started her artistic career studying at Conservatory El Barco in Costa Rica, Then travels to Europe to finish her studies at SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance), where she graduated in 2010. 

 

Since then she has been researching as a teacher and choreographer,In the áreas of  improvisation and strong physicality. She has been sharing her teaching and performances in festivals, companies and schools in Costa Rica, México, Russia, Guatemala, Panama, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Spain and Belgium. 

 

As a performer she has being collaborated and working with Colectivo Clà since 2014 and for choreographers such as Shanti Vera, (Physical Momentum) Francisco Cordova, Anton Lacky, Jimmy Ortiz, amongst others.

 

In 2014 she receive the national award as best performer in Costa Rica for her solo piece “Entre la Locura y la Belleza”. In 2013 receive and scholarship for the program Moving Borders in Mexico at the festival Solodos en Danza and in 2008 the award as best female performer at the dance festival  Nosilicona Acústico in San Jose Costa Rica.

 

Over the past years she has being working deeply into improvisation tools and researching on different layers of it on the side of a strong physical exploration based on sports, climbing, yoga and acrobatics.
